Profile
I am interested in producing pieces which fit into a contemporary home as attractive hand made furniture. The work I produce is all made from second hand chairs, stools and tables which have been found discarded around Manchester. The lack of value these pieces have to many people I find surprising. The value for me is the individuality they have even though many have been mass produced this is due to the weathering which rusts, warps and discolours the material used. Working with these materials brings it own problems as well as advantages such as measurements are rarely universal due to warping of the wood. I have to take a more flexible artistic approach to manufacturing the piece.
