Profile
My present body of work consists of sculptural, blown glass, copper and porcelain forms based around the concept of memory pods as containers of life already lived. Memories reflect on the past, give comfort in the present and provide a bridge to the future, therefore I felt the need to express myself in words within this work by recording specific memories. I aspire to a contemporary art practice, unbounded by material or process, with the skilled application of craftsmanship. This body of work is crafted from a variety of disparate yet harmonious materials into sculptural forms, which are concept-led. I have learnt from this process that I am very keen to undertake commission-based work, and to continue to exhibit and work as a designer/maker in glass as well as a variety of other materials as appropriate, and in harmony with my practice.
